Whole-Home Air Purifiers

We install and service whole-home air purifiers that mount inside your ductwork, so every room gets treated air instead of one room getting a plug-in box. Homeowners across Arizona, California and Nevada call us when dust settles back on furniture a day after cleaning, when allergy season drags indoors, or when cooking and pet smells linger in the hallway. Call us and describe what you are smelling or seeing, and we will look at your duct layout, your return sizing and your existing filtration before recommending anything.

What the job actually involves

A whole-home air purifier ties into the return side of your HVAC system, upstream of the blower. Depending on the type, we cut and frame a cabinet into the return plenum, run low-voltage or line-voltage power to the unit, and seal the connections so unfiltered air is not sneaking around the media. Then we test airflow, because a purifier that chokes a system creates a bigger problem than the dust did. The visit usually takes part of a day in a typical stucco tract home with accessible equipment.

What we check and install

We start with static pressure and return sizing, since undersized returns are common across the region and they change what a system can tolerate. We look at filter slot depth, blower type, plenum room and whether the ducts leak. From there we may install a deep-pleat media cabinet, an ultraviolet or ionization section, or a combination, sized to the blower rather than the brochure. We also check the drain pan and coil, because a dirty coil throws smells no purifier fixes.

How we decide it is the right call

Sometimes it is not. If your ducts are pulling attic dust through open seams, sealing them helps more than any purifier. If a return is starved for air, we fix that first. We recommend whole-home air purification when the duct system is reasonably tight, the blower has capacity to spare, and the complaint is ongoing particulate or odor rather than one bad week. We will tell you when a better filter and a filter change habit gets you most of the way there.

Whole-Home Air Purifiers — quick answers

Will a whole-home air purifier slow down my AC?

It can if the media is too restrictive for your blower. We measure static pressure before and after installation and choose a cabinet depth your system can handle, so cooling airflow and capacity stay where they should be.

How often does the media need changing?

Deep-pleat media typically runs several months to a year depending on pets, dust and how much the system runs. Ultraviolet lamps have their own replacement interval. We write the schedule on the cabinet at installation.

Does it help with smoke or wildfire haze?

Filtration media captures fine particulate, so indoor haze and smell usually improve noticeably. It does not seal your house. We also check for duct and envelope leaks that pull outdoor air in during smoke events.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you notice. Warm air, no air, short cycling, a smell, a noise. Details like when it started help us bring the right parts on the first visit.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the return sizing. We test rather than guess, then explain what failed and why in plain language before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then measure temperatures and airflow at the vents to confirm the system holds. If a duct or return is starving the equipment, we tell you what it would take to fix it.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know stucco tract homesMuch of the housing we service was built fast with returns too small for the tonnage installed. That single duct in the hallway explains a lot of weak airflow complaints, and we look at it before we sell you equipment.
  • Marine mornings, inland afternoonsCoastal condos fight humidity and salt air, while inland homes run long afternoon cycles in triple digits. Same system, different failure patterns. We set expectations for the climate your house actually sits in.
  • Diagnosis you can followYou get told which part failed, what it does and what happens if it waits. No hurry, no scare talk. If the honest answer is that the system has a few seasons left, we say that.
  • Repair before replacementMost calls end in a repair, not a new system. We quote replacement only when a repair will not hold or the cost stops making sense, and we explain the reasoning either way.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
