Emergency No-Heat Repair

Emergency no-heat repair is what we do when your furnace or heat pump has stopped producing warm air and the house is getting cold fast. We work on gas furnaces, heat pumps and air handlers in homes across Arizona, California and Nevada. Call us and describe what happened. Before we arrive you can safely check the thermostat batteries and settings, look for a tripped breaker, and swap a clogged filter. If you smell gas, leave the building, call 911 or the gas utility from outside, then call us.

What an emergency no-heat call involves

We start with the symptom you saw. A furnace that lights and quits after a minute points somewhere different than one that never fires at all, and a heat pump blowing cool air is its own conversation. We confirm the thermostat is actually calling for heat, then check power, the safety circuit and the ignition sequence in order. Most no-heat calls end with one failed part identified and explained before any work happens. You hear what we found and what it takes to get heat back tonight.

What we check and what we replace

On gas furnaces we look at igniters, flame sensors, pressure switches, limit switches, inducer motors and the gas valve, plus the venting that all of them depend on. Blocked flue or a cracked heat exchanger changes the job into a safety conversation, not a quick fix. On heat pumps we check the reversing valve, defrost control, refrigerant charge and auxiliary heat. Undersized or leaky returns show up here too, because a starved blower trips limits and shuts the system down again a week later.

How we decide emergency service is the right call

If the house is cold enough to be a health issue for kids, older family members or anyone with a medical condition, treat it as an emergency and call. Same if you smell gas, hear repeated clicking with no ignition, or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds. Get everyone outside first and call 911 or the gas utility. A furnace that heats but cycles oddly can usually wait for a scheduled heating repair visit, which gives us time to look at the whole system instead of one part.

Emergency No-Heat Repair — quick answers

My furnace ran all last winter and now nothing. What failed?

Most often the igniter or flame sensor, both wear items. A tripped limit switch from a clogged filter is also common. We confirm which one on site rather than guessing over the phone.

Can I keep resetting the breaker until you arrive?

No. Repeated resets on a system that keeps shutting down can damage the control board and hide the real fault. One reset is reasonable. If it trips again, leave it off and call us.

Is it worth repairing an older furnace or should I replace it?

Depends on the part that failed and the condition of the heat exchanger. We get heat back first when it is safe to do so, then walk you through repair versus replacement without pressure.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you notice. Warm air, no air, short cycling, a smell, a noise. Details like when it started help us bring the right parts on the first visit.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the return sizing. We test rather than guess, then explain what failed and why in plain language before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then measure temperatures and airflow at the vents to confirm the system holds. If a duct or return is starving the equipment, we tell you what it would take to fix it.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know stucco tract homesMuch of the housing we service was built fast with returns too small for the tonnage installed. That single duct in the hallway explains a lot of weak airflow complaints, and we look at it before we sell you equipment.
  • Marine mornings, inland afternoonsCoastal condos fight humidity and salt air, while inland homes run long afternoon cycles in triple digits. Same system, different failure patterns. We set expectations for the climate your house actually sits in.
  • Diagnosis you can followYou get told which part failed, what it does and what happens if it waits. No hurry, no scare talk. If the honest answer is that the system has a few seasons left, we say that.
  • Repair before replacementMost calls end in a repair, not a new system. We quote replacement only when a repair will not hold or the cost stops making sense, and we explain the reasoning either way.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
