Top-rated independent heating and cooling across Orange County and Southern California

Central AC Installation

We install central AC systems in homes across Arizona, California and Nevada, replacing the outdoor condenser, the indoor coil and air handler, and correcting the ductwork and returns that feed them. Most homeowners land here after a compressor failure, a refrigerant leak in an old system, or years of one room never cooling. If your system is down right now, call us and we will look at repair first. If replacement is the honest answer, we will size the new system to the house and tell you why.

What a central AC installation actually involves

A full central AC installation is a day of work, sometimes two. We recover refrigerant from the old system, pull the condenser and the indoor coil, and set the new equipment on a level pad or in the attic platform. Line sets get evaluated and often replaced, the electrical disconnect and whip are checked, and condensate drains are re-piped with a proper trap and safety switch. Then we charge the system by weight, verify airflow, and set the thermostat up so it controls the new equipment correctly.

What we check and what we install

Before we quote equipment we measure the house, not the old nameplate. Square footage, window exposure, insulation, attic conditions and duct layout all change the BTU load. On stucco tract homes and coastal condos we find undersized returns constantly, so we check static pressure and return sizing before anything else. From there we install the condenser, matched indoor coil or air handler, filter housing, new supply and return work where needed, and a thermostat you can actually read. Anything we touch gets tested before we leave.

How we decide replacement is the right call

We repair when repair makes sense. A failed capacitor, a bad contactor or a clogged drain is an air conditioning repair, not a reason to replace a system. Replacement becomes the honest answer when the compressor is dead, when the refrigerant the system uses is no longer practical to source, or when repeated leaks keep emptying the charge. Age matters too. If a system has been limping through inland afternoons for fifteen years and the repairs are stacking up, we will show you the numbers and let you choose.

Central AC Installation — quick answers

Can I keep my existing ductwork with a new central AC system?

Often yes, if the ducts are sealed and sized for the new airflow. We test static pressure and inspect returns first. Undersized returns are common across the region and we would rather fix them than fight them.

How long does a central AC installation take?

Most single-system homes take one full day. Attic installs, duct corrections or electrical upgrades can push it to two. We will tell you which before we start so you can plan around it.

Should I replace the furnace or air handler at the same time?

If the indoor unit is the same age as the AC, replacing both together usually makes sense because the coil and blower have to match the new system. We will explain what your setup needs.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you notice. Warm air, no air, short cycling, a smell, a noise. Details like when it started help us bring the right parts on the first visit.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the return sizing. We test rather than guess, then explain what failed and why in plain language before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then measure temperatures and airflow at the vents to confirm the system holds. If a duct or return is starving the equipment, we tell you what it would take to fix it.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know stucco tract homesMuch of the housing we service was built fast with returns too small for the tonnage installed. That single duct in the hallway explains a lot of weak airflow complaints, and we look at it before we sell you equipment.
  • Marine mornings, inland afternoonsCoastal condos fight humidity and salt air, while inland homes run long afternoon cycles in triple digits. Same system, different failure patterns. We set expectations for the climate your house actually sits in.
  • Diagnosis you can followYou get told which part failed, what it does and what happens if it waits. No hurry, no scare talk. If the honest answer is that the system has a few seasons left, we say that.
  • Repair before replacementMost calls end in a repair, not a new system. We quote replacement only when a repair will not hold or the cost stops making sense, and we explain the reasoning either way.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
