Why is my mini-split leaking water inside the house?
Almost always a blocked condensate drain. The head produces water as it cools, and when the drain line clogs with dust or algae the pan overflows down the wall. We clear the line, flush the pan and check that the line still has proper fall.
Only one zone stopped working. Is the whole system bad?
Usually not. Multi-zone systems run each head off its own branch and control board, so a single dead head often means a fan motor, a board or a communication wire, while the outdoor unit and the other zones are fine.
What does the blinking light on my indoor unit mean?
It is an error code. Each manufacturer uses its own blink pattern to point at a sensor, a board, a fan or a refrigerant problem. We read the code, confirm it against what the system is actually doing, then repair the cause rather than the code.
Can a mini-split be repaired or does it have to be replaced?
Most are worth repairing. Fan motors, boards, sensors, capacitors and drain problems are all standard parts work. Replacement enters the conversation when a compressor fails on an older system or parts for that model are no longer produced.
